The Singapore Stock Market Today: No Signboard Holdings Ltd and Cromwell European REIT Go Public

Hello, everyone. Here are three things about the local stock market that you might be interested in today.

1. The Singapore stock market, as represented by the Straits Times Index (SGX: ^STI), finished Thursday at 3,433.54 points, down 0.16%.

The biggest winner in the index was Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings Ltd (SGX: BS6) as its stock rose 2.6% to S$1.57.

On the other hand, shares of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited (SGX: J36) lost the most ground today. They slumped 3.6% to US$62.48.

2. No Signboard Holdings Ltd (SGX: 1G6) made its stock market debut today. The food and beverage outfit’s shares opened at S$0.31 this morning, up from its initial public offering (IPO) price of S$0.28, before closing at S$0.29 for the day.

Sam Lim, chief executive officer and executive chairman of the firm, said:

“We are proud to have grown from our modest beginnings as a seafood hawker stall to one of the leading F&B players in Singapore. Today, we have achieved another significant milestone with the listing of the company. Going forward, we will continue to leverage on our strong brand and industry network to grow new and complementary F&B businesses.”

With the listing of No Signboard Holdings, the total number of consumer companies listed on our local bourse increases to 150. To know more about the IPO, you can head here.

3. In the afternoon, Cromwell European REIT (SGX: CNNU), Singapore’s first real estate investment trust (REIT) with a diversified pan-European portfolio, went public. The REIT’s units debuted at the IPO price of €0.55 before ending the day at €0.555.

Chew Sutat from the Singapore Exchange (SGX: S68), mentioned:

“We are pleased to welcome Cromwell European REIT, the first Euro-denominated listing and first REIT with a diversified Pan-European portfolio to be listed on SGX. This first-of-its-kind listing in Asia adds to the vibrancy of SGX’s REIT cluster and offers investors an opportunity to invest in Europe’s real estate sector.”
