Three Companies That Have Recently Announced Improvement In The Last Quarter

Global Logistic Properties Ltd (SGX: MCO) or GLP released its 2016 second-quarter earnings two weeks’ ago.

GLP is a modern logistics facilities provider with assets in four countries, namely China, Japan, US and Brazil. It is involved in the development and operations of logistics properties.

Additionally, it has a property fund management arm, which lets it exploit its operational expertise.

Overall, the company delivered a strong performance with improvements in revenue, net profit and earnings per share, due to new and renewal leases, rental growth mainly in the US and China and better customer retention.

GLP expects the supply and demand fundamentals for logistics facilities in the medium to long term to remain attractive. This article details its latest performance. Some key numbers worth paying attention to are the 12.9% year-on-year growth of revenue, the 51.8% year-on-year growth in net profit and the 59% growth in EPS year-on-year.

Golden Agri-Resources Ltd (SGX: E5H) is an integrated palm-oil company with plantations in Indonesia (a total planted area of 482,228 hectares as of September 2016).

The firm operates through the entire value chain of the palm oil industry.

Overall, GAR reported a strong quarterly performance, mainly due to stronger commodity prices, favourable foreign exchange rates and a tax-based asset revaluations stated at S$111 million.

As a result, both revenue and net profit has improved, as compare to last year. The company expects to improve efficiency across the value chain through its integrated business model and through best practices.

Revenue improved 17%% year-on-year to USD$1.8 billion. Profit attributable to shareholders improved from a negative USD$16 million to USD$220 million. More information about the latest results can be found here. 

City Developments Limited (SGX: C09) is a real-estate developer that build both residential and commercial properties. It also 61% of London-listed Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Plc. It has interests in other hotel properties, serviced apartments, and serviced offices.

City Development reported a strong performances in term of revenue, net profit and EPS. The results were driven predominantly by the property development segment and also gains from City Developments’ sale of its entire 52.52% interest in City e-Solutions Limited.

Third-quarter revenue was up 14% to S$922.8 million, while net profit rose 60.1% year-on-year. Earnings per share (EPS) grew 60.4% year-on-year to 17.8 cents.
