3 Things You Need To Know About the Singapore Stock Market Today

Welcome to Wednesday evening! Here are three things about Singapore’s stock market and investing in general that you might want to look at today and over the week.

1. We are entering 2016. And, there might be plenty of doubts about the market that may be in investors’ minds. How can investors invest safely in an uncertain world? Join my colleague Chong Ser Jing as he sheds some light on the subject.

2. Some economists like to relate the performance of stocks to how the macro-economy is doing. But there are many examples of how there is actually a huge gulf between economics and investing. I’d let Ser Jing explain further why you shouldn’t mix the two.

3. 2015 is coming to an end. I’ve been taking a journey back memory lane to find out the biggest winners and losers this past year from various groups of stocks in the stock market. For instance, for real estate stocks, I had looked at some of the biggest names in the market like CapitaLand Limited (SGX: C31), City Developments Limited (SGX: C09), and UOL Group Limited (SGX: U14).
