3 Things You Need To Know About The Financial Industry This Week

Welcome to Sunday evening! Here are three things about the financial industry that you might want to look at today.

  1. One of the largest bank in Singapore, United Overseas Bank Ltd (SGX: U11) announced its quarterly result this week. UOB continues to make great progress in its business, growing its net asset base and its net profit.
  2. UOB’s subsidiary, United Overseas Insurance Limited (SGX: U13) also announced its earnings this week. However, unlike its parent, the insurance outfit saw a 21% decline in its net profit. Find out more of what this means for the company here.
  3. There are not many fund management companies listed here in Singapore. One of the most successful of them all is ARA Asset Management Limited (SGX: D1R). The fund management company held its annual general meeting last week. Find out more on what I have learned after attending the AGM.
