3 Things You Need To Know About the Singapore Share Market Today

Welcome to Friday evening! Here are three things about Singapore’s share market that you might want to look at today and for the rest of the week.

1. There’s plenty of attention being paid by the financial media on when exactly would the U.S. Federal Reserve raise interest rates. Some of you might also be legitimately worried about how the Fed’s actions would impact your investment portfolio. If you are, my colleague Chin Hui Leong has some great advice on how we can deal with what the Fed throws at the market. Check out his thoughts here.

2. Super Group Ltd (SGX: S10) and StarHub Ltd (SGX: CC3) belong to a group of cool companies in Singapore that share their quarterly earnings presentations through webcasts. These presentations can sometimes contain additional important nuggets of information about a company’s business which aren’t clearly spelled out in the earnings releases.

Chin recently spent some time going through both Super and Starhub’s latest webcasts and had picked out some additional useful things about both firms’ businesses. See here: Super and Starhub.

3. I do use stock screeners every now and then to help me find investment opportunities. But, I’m also aware that screeners have their disadvantages and can only be used as a starting point. My colleague Stanley Lim has spent some time penning down his thoughts on the topic recently, so jump in here to see more.
