3 Things You Need To Know About the Singapore Share Market Today

Welcome to Monday evening! Here are three things about Singapore’s share market you might want to look at today and over the rest of the week.

1. The start of a new year is often a good time for us to take stock of what has happened over the past year and think about how we can put our best foot forward over the next 12 months. I think many investors would do the same too, investing-wise. To help out with that, check out this link to see why shares like Vicom Limited (SGX: V01) and Silverlake Axis Ltd (SGX: 5CP) might be rock-sold shares to start 2015 with. Hint: It has to do with the strength of their balance sheets and their superb profitability.

2. How can we ever tell if we’re good stock pickers? Is it our ability to outguess the market on a daily basis or is it our ability to predict upcoming Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures? If you’ve ever wondered about the question, my colleague David Kuo has a great primer on the topic to share.

3. Do you know which share was the best-performing IPO in 2014? Fools, meet TalkMed Group Ltd (SGX: 5G3). Since its listing on January 2014, the healthcare services provider has seen its shares nearly quintuple in value. Is there anything we can learn from the share’s experience thus far? My colleague James had just dug into the subject. So, do check it out here.
