3 Things You Need To Know About the Singapore Share Market Today

Welcome to Friday! Here are three things about Singapore’s share market you might want to look at today and over the weekend as you enjoy the last of the festive period.

1. We’re only in the first few days of 2015 and for investors who want to sit down and think about what lies ahead for the year, my colleague Chin Hui Leong had penned a great article on investing resolutions for an investor to keep.

2. Sticking to the “New Year” theme, I too had shared some thoughts on how investors should invest in 2015 (see here) as well as why it can be dangerous for anyone to rely too much on forecasts of what the markets may do this year (see here). I also looked at the valuations for the stock market as a whole – by using the SPDR STI ETF (SGX: ES3) as a proxy for the ‘market’ – to have a feel for what stocks might do over the next 12 months. 3. For some potential investing ideas, why not turn to my colleague Sudhan, who recently dug deep into the business of Singapore’s best-yielding blue chip StarHub Ltd. (SGX: CC3). Sudhan wanted to see how sustainable StarHub’s dividend is, amongst other things. So, do check out his thoughts here.
