3 Things You Need To Know About the Singapore Share Market Today

Merry Christmas and welcome to the middle of Wednesday! Here are three things about Singapore’s share market you might want to look at today and over the rest of the week as you enjoy the festive season.

1. Since it’s all about Christmas today (it’s Christmas Eve after all), jump in here to find out why my colleague Stanley Lim thinks that Tiger Airways Holdings Limited (SGX: J7X), Del Monte Pacific Limited (SGX: D03), and Sino Construction Limited (SGX: F3V) deserves to be in Santa’s “Naughty” list this year. Hint: It has to do with poor business performances and highly-leveraged balance sheets.

2. Sticking to the Christmas theme, Stanley also shared his thoughts on why shares like Silverlake Axis Ltd (SGX: 5CP) and LanTroVision Ltd (SGX: Q7W) are deserving of a spot in Santa’s “Nice” list. Hint: It has to do with a great track record of revenue and profit growth, and having rock-solid balance sheets.

3. Moving on to a less-joyous topic about investing risks, much ink (or bytes) have been spilled on the risks of investing in oil & gas stocks at the moment. These risks often deal with a stock’s finances, its business, and the future price of oil. But, there’s actually a much more personal element to the risks inherent in oil & gas stocks which many investors might not have paid much attention to. My colleague Chin Hui Leong has, so do check out his thoughts on the topic in here.
