Singapore “Flyer” of the Week: Chinese Global Investors Group

Chinese Global Investors Group (Catalist: 5CJ), or CGI Group, gained 14.3% so far this week. This makes it our Singapore “Flyer” of the Week.

The company is an investment holding group that’s principally engaged in two streams of business: financial and investment services; and provision of waterproofing and building protection solutions and products.

Under the financial services arm, its services include loan and mortgage financing, treasury investments, corporate finance advisory and asset management and research, among others. As for its investment services arm, it is involved in direct investments in listed and unlisted securities, pre-IPO investments and structured equity and debt products.

This week, on 19th December 2013, the company announced that Mr U Keng Tin will be appointed as the Executive Director of CGI Group. His responsibilities include the oversight of investments, mergers, and acquisitions of the company.

Currently, the firm is trading at 1.3 times the book value. The shares last changed hands at $0.016.
