The Singapore Market This Week

StockMarketBoardThe Straits Times Index (SGX: ^STI) ended almost flat this week. It was down a mere 27 points, or 0.8% to close at 3,210 points.

Some STI constituents such as Sembcorp Industries Limited (SGX: U96) and Wilmar International Limited (SGX: F34) fared well, increasing 2.7% and 2.2% respectively. On the other hand, Jardine Strategic Holdings Limited (SGX: J37) and Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX: S68) slumped 4.1% and 3.9% respectively.

OUE Limited (SGX: LJ3) plunged 7.5%. The market took a dim view to news that the company would be launching a new Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). OUE is looking into listing a S$700 million REIT comprising of local and overseas commercial assets. It plans to list the REIT by the first quarter of 2014.
